We built Kyssi to be the private safe space for your packing flatlays, trip notes, and unshareable travel memories. None of your content ever leaves your iPhone, no uploads, no tracking, no third-party access, period. We don’t even have servers that could store your data if we wanted to.
We designed Kyssi from the very first line of code around a single non-negotiable rule: your travel data belongs exclusively to you. The photos you snap or import, the 3:4 cropped packing flatlays you edit, your destination lists, packing items, private notes, custom trip tags, and even your preference for light or dark mode are all for your eyes only, unless you explicitly choose to share them.
We don’t run ads, we don’t build user profiles, and we never sell or share any data related to your use of Kyssi, because we never collect that data in the first place.
The following content stays 100% on your iPhone at all times, encrypted with AES-256, and is never transmitted to any party outside of your device:
We don’t even collect usage metrics like how often you open the app, how many trips you log, or what destinations you save. We have no way to identify individual users, and we designed the app that way on purpose.
There are only two scenarios where we receive any data related to Kyssi usage, and both are fully controlled by your iOS system settings, with no personal or identifiable information included:
All Kyssi data stored on your device is encrypted with AES-256, the same security standard used for sensitive government and financial data. This encryption is tied directly to your iPhone’s system security: if you use a lock screen passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, your Kyssi data is automatically protected by those same authentication layers, so no one can access your trip content without your explicit approval.
If you enable iCloud Backup for your iPhone, Kyssi data will be included as part of your personal iCloud backup, governed by Apple’s iCloud privacy policies. We have no access to your iCloud backups, and cannot recover your data if you lose your device – your content stays entirely under your control.
Since we never hold any of your data, you have 100% control over all your Kyssi content at all times, no requests or permissions needed:
We don’t have access to your data, so we cannot recover deleted content for you. We recommend backing up your iPhone regularly if you want to preserve your trip memories.
Kyssi does not integrate any third-party tracking SDKs, advertising tools, or data analytics services. The only external interactions Kyssi makes are those you explicitly initiate:
We have no control over the privacy practices of third-party apps you choose to share your content with, so we recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external platforms you use to share your trip content.
Kyssi only asks for permissions that match the feature you choose to use. You can turn permissions off at any time in iOS Settings.
Kyssi does not keep a server copy of your travel journal. Your content remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, export it, back up your device, or uninstall the app.
Kyssi is a private travel journaling and packing memory tool. It is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children, and we do not operate user accounts or profiles for children.
Please avoid saving highly sensitive information in trip notes or exported posters, such as passport numbers, ID documents, financial details, private addresses, medical information, or travel information you would not want others to see if you share a poster publicly.
Kyssi is local-first, so your device security matters. To protect your travel memories, we recommend:
Our core promise that your data never leaves your device will never change. If we need to update other sections of this agreement (for example, to cover new features added to Kyssi), we will provide at least 30 days’ notice via a prominent in-app notification, and post the updated agreement on our official website before the new terms take effect.
Your continued use of Kyssi after the updated agreement’s effective date constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you may delete Kyssi from your device at any time, and all your data will be permanently erased.
